Prana Ahuti (kriya 16)

This is the sixteenth of the twenty Kundalini Kriyas of Kriya Yoga. If you have not completed my free online course, please download and complete that first.

Continue sitting in Siddhasana or Siddha Yoni Asana. Eyes are closed, breathing is normal, tongue is in Kechari Mudra, and head is facing forward.

Feel the soft touch of a divine hand lying on your head. The hand is infusing subtle prana into your body and mind and the prana is traveling down from Sahasrara through the spinal passage. You may experience it as a wave of cold, heat, energy, electric current, or as a stream of wind or liquid. Its passage will result in vibrations, shocks, jerks or tickling sensations which course through you. When the prana has reached Mooladhara, then immediately go on to the next kriya without waiting to experience the prana a second time.

A video describing and demonstrating this kriya will be posted with kriya 20.

  1. I'm a couple of days into week 16, and at this point the sensation feels like the movement of breath down the spine during the Sanchalana exhales, but I'm not exhaling during this movement. Rather it fees like I'm "directing awareness/feeling" my way down the spine. It still feels as if my mind is active in this process.
In full expression, might this kriya feel more spontaneous, as if the body is receiving the energy passively? Shall I be doing, or merely listening receptively?

    1. Eventually it does seem to happen spontaneously, but even then the mind naturally follows the energy when it arrives. Initially though, visualization of the hand and energy, along with movement of the mind is required.
