Swaroopa Darshan (kriya 18)

This is the eighteenth of the twenty Kundalini Kriyas of Kriya Yoga. If you have not completed my free online course, please download and complete that first.

Continue sitting in Siddhasana or Siddha Yoni Asana. Eyes are closed, breathing is normal, tongue is in Kechari Mudra, and head is facing forward.

Become aware of your physical body. Your body is completely motionless, and you maintain total awareness of this fact. Be sure that you are completely steady, like a rock. When you are absolutely sure of your bodily steadiness, you should also become aware of your natural breath. Watch the constant flow of your breath, but be sure your body remains steady. Your body will start to become stiff. As it becomes stiffer, your awareness will shift completely to your breathing; however, the body will continue to become stiffer and stiffer of its own accord. When your body has become as rigid as a statue, and it is beyond your control to move it even if you tried, then go on to the next kriya.

  1. How easy is it to break the stiffness? Any feelings about how best to come out of this kriya if you're not moving on to 19 and 20?

    1. I would start by moving the tips of my fingers, then my toes, hands, feet, etc. I never had any trouble getting out of this kriya. The wording is perhaps a bit strong. It is difficult to accidentally lose the stiffness, by say unconsciously moving your hand to scratch an itch, but it is easy to purposely focus and move your hand when you want to. Anyway, that was my experience.
